President Tinubu Meets US Military Officials to Strengthen Security Cooperation in Nigeria

President Tinubu held a meeting with US military officials to discuss strengthening security cooperation, joint military exercises, intelligence sharing, and technological support. The meeting, which included top Nigerian security officials like Gen.

Michael Anderson and Maj. Gen.

Samaila Uba, aimed to identify new areas of collaboration to counter terrorist organizations threatening Nigeria and the region. Discussions also centered on enhancing Nigeria's operational capabilities, sustaining intelligence sharing, and receiving technical advisory support.

The visit included a tour of the joint US-Nigeria intelligence fusion cell in Abuja, emphasizing the commitment to enabling Nigerian-led solutions to security challenges. The US Africa Command (AFRICOM) reaffirmed its support for Nigeria's efforts and highlighted ongoing cooperation to address shared security challenges.
