Enyimba Appoints Emmanuel Deutsch as New Head Coach

Emmanuel Deutsch has been appointed as the head coach of Enyimba Football Club, taking over from Deji Ayeni following a series of disappointing results that left the former African champions languishing in the bottom half of the Nigeria Premier Football League table. In his first match in charge, Enyimba secured a 1-1 draw against River United in Port Harcourt, which lifted the team to 14th place with 32 points from 27 matches.

Despite this modest improvement, Deutsch acknowledged the significant challenges ahead with 11 games remaining in the season. He expressed confidence that Enyimba, a nine-time Nigerian champion, would recover from its difficult campaign and rediscover its form.

Paul Odeh, a midfielder for Enyimba, echoed Deutsch's optimism, emphasizing the need for players to quickly adapt to the new coaching philosophy to improve results. Enyimba is set to host relegation-threatened Kun Khalifat in their next match, aiming to build momentum as the season progresses.
