Nigerian Military Orders Removal of Unauthorized Checkpoints Nationwide for Enhanced Security

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has issued a directive to dismantle unauthorized checkpoints across Nigeria to ensure the safety of personnel and civilians. The memo signed by Brigadier General Rabiu on behalf of the Minister of Defence, Christoph Musa, emphasizes the need to eliminate non-essential static roadblocks that disrupt movement and pose security risks.

The order covers various routes including Abuja, Lokoja, Enugu, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Benin, and Asaba. Military personnel are instructed to rely on mobile patrols and human intelligence gathering to maintain essential operational security.
