Troops Neutralize 102 Terrorists, Arrest 345 in July

In July, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) reported that troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces neutralized over 102 terrorists and criminal elements while arresting 345 individuals and rescuing 393 kidnapped civilians. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen.

Michael Onoja, provided these details during a monthly operational briefing. In the North-East, troops neutralized 54 fighters, arrested 102 terrorists, and rescued 102 kidnapped victims.

In the North-West, under Operation Fansan Yamma, 33 fighters were neutralized, 66 terrorists arrested, and 191 victims rescued. The North-Central region saw 15 terrorists killed, 148 suspects arrested, and 53 victims rescued.

Additionally, in the South-South and South-East, 47 victims were rescued, and 29 criminals were apprehended. Notably, anti-oil theft operations in Rivers State dismantled illegal refining sites, recovering over 250,500 litres of petroleum products and stolen crude oil.
