Tobi Amusan Breaks Meet Record at Diamond League in Rabat

Tobi Amusan, the world record holder and three-time Diamond League champion, achieved her first victory of the season at the Diamond League meet in Rabat on Sunday. She broke her own meet record in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 12.28 seconds, which also equals her season's best time set at the Xiamen Diamond League the previous week.

Amusan's performance surpassed the previous Rabat meet record of 12.45 seconds, which she set last year. She finished ahead of Devynn Charlton, who placed second with a time of 12.40 seconds, and Nadin Visser, who came in third at 12.47 seconds.

Amusan entered the Diamond League season after winning her fourth consecutive African title and aims to reclaim her title this season. She faces competition from several athletes, including American hurdler Masai Russell, who recently clocked 12.14 seconds, close to Amusan's world record of 12.12 seconds set during the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene.
