Dickson Rejects Court Ruling on NDC Registration, Appeals

Henry Seriake Dickson, the leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced his rejection of a ruling from the Lokoja Federal High Court concerning the party's registration. The court, presided over by Justice Isah Dashen, vacated a previous judgment that directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC.

The ruling followed an application from the unregistered Peace Movement Party (PMP), which claimed an interest in the NDC's logo. Dickson criticized the court's decision as illegitimate and anti-democratic, asserting that it undermines the credibility and progress of the NDC.

He stated that the party's legal team has already begun steps to challenge the ruling and restore the earlier judgment. Dickson emphasized that the latest developments would not deter the NDC's mission to promote multi-party democracy in Nigeria.

He also expressed surprise at the challenge from the PMP, which he noted had no legal interest in the matter. Dickson called for party members to remain calm and continue their political activities.
