Doyin Abiola, a trailblazing female journalist, is celebrated for her exceptional contributions to the profession. Married to national hero Bashorun Abiola, she entered journalism in 1970 after earning a degree from the University of Ibadan.

Rising through the ranks, she became a leading figure at the Concord Group Newspapers, providing editorial leadership and demonstrating unparalleled creativity. Abiola's team accurately covered significant political events, including the failed coup by Gideon Okar and the formation and dissolution of political parties during the Babangida regime.

Despite facing challenges, including an assassination attempt, she never wavered in her commitment to journalism. Abiola's transformation of the Concord Group Newspapers into a leading publication in Nigeria, alongside her colleagues Mike Awoyinfa and Dimgba Igwe, solidified her legacy in the industry.
