NERC Reports 74.91% Recovery Efficiency for DisCos in July

In July 2026, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) released a Commercial Performance Factsheet indicating that the 11 electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) achieved an average Revenue Recovery Efficiency of 74.91%. The DisCos received energy worth N333.94 billion but billed customers only N250.79 billion, resulting in a Billing Efficiency of 75.10%, a decrease of 1.14 percentage points from June 2026.

Eko Disco had the highest Recovery Efficiency at 94.67%, while Kaduna Disco had the lowest at 39.71%. Yola Disco showed significant improvement, with its Collection Efficiency rising by 20.34 percentage points to 88.92% and Recovery Efficiency climbing by 12.44 percentage points to 78.24%.
