Prophet Walter Magaya Announces Wicknell Chivayo's Crash

On September 30, 2026, Prophet Walter Magaya, leader of PHD Ministries, became visibly emotional while addressing his congregation at the Arena of Liberty in Waterfalls, Harare. He shared unverified reports of a helicopter crash involving businessman Wicknell Chivayo, stressing his hope that the information was incorrect.

Magaya disclosed that he had spoken with Chivayo just hours prior to the service, during which Chivayo had invited him to upcoming events. The moment was captured on video, showing Magaya speaking under string lights and palm trees.

Following the announcement, reactions flooded social media, with some sympathizing with Magaya's distress while others criticized his decision to share such sensitive information from the pulpit.
