DJ Chicken Remanded for Threatening Seyi Tinubu's Life

DJ Chicken, a controversial Nigerian content creator, has been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre following allegations of threatening the life of Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu. The charges against him include three counts that violate the Cybercrime Act and breach of peace, stemming from a viral video in which he claimed that Tinubu would not win re-election in 2027.

Despite retracting his statement and claiming it was a joke intended for popularity, DJ Chicken was arrested and arraigned, pleading not guilty to the charges. The court granted him bail set at 1 million naira, requiring two sureties, one of whom must be a civil servant or community leader with property in Lagos State.

The sureties must also provide evidence of three years of tax clearance and a national identification number. The case has been adjourned until August 3, 2026, while DJ Chicken remains in custody pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.
