Doku Out of Belgium's World Cup Match Against Iran

Jeremie Doku, a player for the Belgium National Team and Manchester City, has been ruled out of Belgium's second World Cup group match against Iran due to illness. The announcement was made by the Belgian team on Saturday, as they prepare to face Iran at Sofi Stadium on Sunday.

Doku had started in Belgium's opening match, which ended in a 1-1 draw against Egypt, but struggled to make an impact before being replaced by Matias Fernandez Pardo in the 86th minute. The 24-year-old forward is also missing the match as his wife is expected to give birth to their first child in the second week of July.

Doku is recognized as one of the best young players in the Belgium squad, which is attempting to rebuild after a disappointing group stage exit in the 2022 World Cup.
