Doku Reveals Health Scare During World Cup Journey

Jeremy Doku, a winger for Manchester City, disclosed in a YouTube video that he faced significant health challenges during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including coughing blood and severe chest pain. His health issues began after Belgium's match against Tunisia, where he developed an uncontrollable cough.

Following a church visit with the team, he experienced excruciating chest pain and sought emergency medical treatment, which revealed liquid in his lungs. Despite receiving medication, his condition did not improve, making it impossible for him to train or perform.

Amidst this health scare, Doku received life-changing news from Belgium's team manager at 6 a.m. that his wife had gone into labor weeks early. He decided to return to London, stating he was not fit to play.

Doku welcomed his first son, named Praise, and described the birth as a divine timing, expressing his emotional connection upon meeting his son.
