Observers Praise Peaceful Osun Governorship Election

Domestic observers monitoring the Osun governorship election in Ede commended the peaceful conduct of the election and the large voter turnout. Observers began monitoring polling units as early as 7:00 a.m.

Mr. Omotola Akinropo from Kimpact Development Initiative praised the electoral process, noting that security personnel effectively coordinated the election and maintained order. He urged political actors to accept the election results peacefully.

Mrs. Bisi Adebimpe from the Centre for Democracy and Good Governance expressed optimism about voter adherence to guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and encouraged citizens to fulfill their civic duties. Accreditation and voting began early in various polling units across Ede North and Ede South Local Government Areas, with voters queuing to cast their votes.

The election features candidates from 15 political parties, including the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, and Mr. Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
