Okpebholo Praises High Voter Turnout in Edo Elections

Governor Mondai Okpebholo commended the high voter turnout and peaceful conduct during the Edo State local government elections held on Saturday across 18 local government areas. He voted at Ward 2, Udomi Primary School in Esan Central Local Government Area, arriving at the polling unit at 10:24 AM and joining the voter queue.

Okpebholo spent several minutes interacting with voters and praised the orderly conduct of the election, which was reported to be peaceful. The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) received positive assessments regarding the election's conduct.

Observers, including Comrad Fide Nwoke from a civic education initiative, noted that no major security breaches disrupted the voting process. Voters expressed satisfaction with the election's transparency and orderliness, with individuals like Christoph Ejodamen, Timothi Uwaya, and Lucki Okoawo voting without intimidation.

Okpebholo urged residents to maintain peaceful behavior throughout the voting process as they awaited the official results.
