Don Jazzy Clarifies Earnings Comments from Mo’Hits Era

On August 27, music executive and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy clarified his previous comments regarding his earnings during the Mo’Hits era. This clarification followed the resurfacing of a clip from a 2023 interview on the Zero Conditions podcast, where he stated he did not earn money from that period.

Don Jazzy explained that his comments referred to the financial landscape at the time, noting that music streaming had not yet become a significant source of income. He elaborated on the end of Mo’Hits and his split from D'banj, stating they reached an agreement allowing D'banj to take his catalogue, while other artists could also leave with their respective catalogues.

He emphasized that the lack of streaming revenue meant their music did not generate the income artists can earn today. Don Jazzy urged caution regarding the consumption of online content, as old interview clips can be taken out of context.
