Trump Applauds FIFA for Overturning Balogun's Suspension

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, expressed his approval of FIFA's decision to overturn the suspension of Folarin Balogun, a U.S. striker. This suspension was initially related to Balogun's involvement in a World Cup game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Trump communicated with FIFA President Gianni Infantino regarding the matter, and FIFA confirmed the reversal of the suspension on Saturday, allowing Balogun to be available for the U.S. team in their World Cup tie against Poland on Monday. Trump, through the White House press secretary, described the ban on Balogun as an injustice and commended FIFA for taking the right step.

Additionally, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick was involved in discussions behind the scenes, expressing hope that Balogun would be available for the remainder of the tournament, which would significantly benefit the U.S. team’s attacking format.
