Nasarawa Youths Demand Peaceful APC Primaries Ahead of 2027

Youth leaders from various ethnic groups in Nasarawa State have called for peaceful primaries within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the state prepares for the 2027 elections. During a press briefing in Lafia, coordinated by Ibrahim Thaddeus Maiyanga, the leaders expressed concerns over rising political tensions and urged party leadership at both national and state levels to ensure a transparent and fair primary election process scheduled for next month.

They criticized Governor Abdullahi Sule's recent endorsement of Ahm Wadada as his preferred successor, asserting that such actions could lead to political violence and ethnic blackmail. The youth leaders emphasized that no single ethnic group should monopolize the political landscape and called for inclusivity, urging all stakeholders to refrain from inflammatory rhetoric that could disrupt peace.

They dissociated themselves from any statements made by the AEGI Forum that do not represent their views and stressed the importance of unity and maturity in the political process.
