VC of Michael Okpara University Urges Calm Amid Successor Selection Delays

Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iw, the Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike in Abia State, has appealed to the institution's staff and students not to panic over delays in selecting his successor. During a monthly prayer meeting, he addressed concerns about the slow transition process, emphasizing the need for patience and trust in God's guidance.

Professor Iw, who assumed office in March 2021, is set to complete his tenure in early March 2026. The university's governing council is currently overseeing the selection process, despite alleged frustrations among some council members over delays in activities like the 13th convocation ceremony scheduled for December 2025.
