MOUAU's New VC to Advance Tinubu's Agricultural Vision

Professor Ursula Ngozi Akanwa has been inaugurated as the 7th Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU). She has committed to promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision regarding agricultural education and policies.

Her administration aims to transform MOUAU into a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, focusing on producing graduates who are job creators rather than job seekers. Akanwa's vision includes enhancing agricultural research, technology, and education, with an emphasis on agripreneurship and innovative entrepreneurship to support Nigeria's food system and contribute to the nation's GDP growth.

She plans to provide a supportive administrative environment that maintains high academic standards and aligns with the university's mission. The university, established on November 13, 1992, and operational since May 3, 1993, will prioritize the welfare of its staff and ensure transparency in its operations.
