Court Adjourns Case on Alleged Illegal Eviction in Abuja

The High Court in Maitama, Abuja, presided over by Justice Samira Batur, witnessed a dramatic session concerning the alleged illegal eviction of Asab Waziri from her property. Lawyer Abubakar Moham represented Waziri, claiming that the Attorney General had unlawfully evicted her.

During the proceedings, lawyer Victor Giwa objected to Moham's right to speak in court, leading to a brief confrontation. Justice Batur agreed with Giwa, stating that Moham could not address the court without proper authorization.

The case was further complicated by the absence of Edith Erhunmuus, who was reportedly ill, prompting the court to adjourn the case to April 24, 2024. Justice Batur expressed concern over the delays, warning that no further adjournments would be tolerated and emphasizing the need for fair justice.
