DSS Apologizes and Releases Journalists Wrongfully Arrested in Jos

The Department of State Services (DSS) issued an apology and released two journalists, Ruth Marcus Keshia and Jay FM, who were wrongfully arrested in Jos, Plateau State. The journalists were detained while covering President Bola Tinubu's visit to the state for a burial ceremony.

Following the incident, the DSS promptly released the journalists and offered apologies. The new DSS leadership emphasized the importance of press freedom and assured the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) of respecting media rights.

The DSS acknowledged the mistake and committed to investigating the matter thoroughly to prevent such occurrences in the future.
