DSS Arraigns Ex-AGF Malami and Son Over Terrorism Financing

The Department of State Services (DSS) brought charges against former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his son, Abdulaziz Malami, in a Federal High Court in Abuja for their alleged involvement in terrorism financing. Abubakar Malami is accused of aiding and abetting terrorism during his tenure as the Attorney General, including failing to prosecute suspected terrorists.

Abdulaziz Malami is accused of engaging in conduct preparatory to committing acts of terror, including possessing firearms without a valid license. Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The presiding judge, Justice Abdulmalik, adjourned the case for further proceedings, including a bail application hearing. Abubakar Malami previously served as the Attorney General of the Federation under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had also arrested him earlier for alleged fraud and money laundering.
