DSS Arraigns Ex-AGF Malami, Son Over Terrorism Financing and Illegal Firearms

The Department of State Services (DSS) brought charges against Abubakar Malami, the immediate past Attorney General of the Federation, and his son, Abdulaziz Abubakar Malami, at the Federal High Court in Abuja. They are accused of terrorism financing and unlawfully possessing firearms.

The charges include aiding and abetting terrorism, illegal possession of firearms, and ammunition. Abubakar Malami is also accused of knowingly abetting terrorism financing by allegedly refusing to prosecute terrorism financing cases during his tenure as the Attorney General.

The DSS alleges that the duo unlawfully possessed firearms and ammunition in Kebbi State. The court declined an oral bail application and scheduled a hearing for a formal written bail application on February 20.
