DSS Arrests Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai

On Wednesday night, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) shortly after being released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Sources indicate that El-Rufai's arrest is connected to ongoing investigations by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding allegations of corrupt practices.

The DSS reportedly laid an ambush at the EFCC headquarters to apprehend him. Additionally, security sources have confirmed that the arrest involves allegations of cybercrime, specifically claims of unlawfully intercepting phone communications linked to national security.

The timeline of events indicates that El-Rufai was in the custody of the EFCC earlier on Monday before being granted bail at 8 PM on Wednesday, only to be picked up by DSS operatives shortly thereafter.
