DSS Arrests Suspect Linked to Attack on Peter Obi

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a 26-year-old suspect named Udem Mondai Stephen in connection with an attack on Peter Obi and others during a party meeting in Edo State. The incident occurred on February 24, when armed men fired several gunshots, narrowly missing Obi.

Following the attack, Stephen posted threats on social media, warning Obi against entering Edo State and expressing intentions to harm him. The DSS initiated a covert investigation, employing forensic analysis to track down the suspect.

Stephen, who is believed to be a teacher at Jessica High School in Eliozu, River State, is expected to face charges in court soon. The DSS emphasized its commitment to counter-espionage and VIP protection, stating that it will act swiftly against credible threats, regardless of the individual's tribe or religion.
