DSS Arrests Suspects Behind Kidnap and Murder of Neurology Professor in Cross River State

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended the gang responsible for the 2023 kidnapping and murder of renowned neurology professor Ekanem Philip Ephraim in Cross River State. The suspects, including gang leader Patrick Essien Etim and accomplice Bassei Antiha Asuquo, confessed to the crime.

The kidnapping, which occurred in July 2023, prompted protests by the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) in Cross River State. The arrest brought relief to the professor's family after enduring two years of torment.

Another suspect, Isaac Ekpeyong, was also arrested in connection with the case.
