Plateau Youth Coalition Defends Security Agencies' Efforts

A coalition of indigenous youth organizations in Plateau State, led by Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, Esq., President of the Berom Youths Moulder-Association, held a press conference in Abuja to assert that the Department of State Services (DSS), the Mobile Police Force, and Operation Rainbow are effectively protecting vulnerable communities. The coalition dismissed a petition dated 5 October 2026, signed by Mujahid Abdullahi on behalf of various Fulani organizations, which accused the DSS of bias and criminality.
Mwantiri accused the petitioners of attempting to undermine security operations through misinformation. The coalition claimed that joint security operations have revealed connections between cattle grazing and armed militants responsible for community attacks, with at least 152 hamlets and villages suffering from violence.
They called for a thorough investigation into allegations of misconduct involving military personnel and urged President Bola Tinubu to support security agencies rather than withdraw them from Plateau State.
