DSS Raises Alarm Over Planned Attack on Kwara Community After Woro Killings

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Kwara State has raised concerns over a potential attack on Gbabe community in Baruten Local Government Area, following deadly incidents in Woro community in Kaiama LGA. In a letter signed by the State Director of DSS, J.S.

Adam, dated February 5, 2026, and addressed to the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, the DSS highlighted the threat of an attack by suspected Mamuda elements around Kiyoru settlement in Gwanara District. The letter referenced historical violent activities of armed groups operating around Kainji Lake National Park and urged heightened vigilance in the community.

The DSS urged the police to treat the intelligence with urgency and take appropriate measures to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
