DSS Arrests Man for Threatening Abuja School Community

The Department of State Services (DSS) revealed how it tracked and arrested John Jude Agbo, who allegedly threatened to kill students and teachers at three schools in Abuja. During a trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, DSS operative Michael Jego testified that the agency received a petition regarding the threats, which were sent via text messages from the phone numbers 08124412783, 08069781274, 08105715028, and 09139681108.

Agbo was arraigned on March 17, facing two counts under the Terrorism Prevention Prohibition Act of 2022 and the Cybercrime Prohibition Act of 2024. The DSS utilized technology to track Agbo to Otukpo in Benue State, where he was arrested, and his mobile phone was recovered.

Agbo's trial is ongoing, with the next hearing scheduled for May 12. The defense, represented by Hamza Dantani, acknowledged familiarity with the technology used but denied ownership of the phone linked to the threats.
