Nigeria's D'Tigress faces a tough challenge in the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament after being drawn in a tricky group with France, Germany, Korea, Colombia, and the Philippines. The tournament is scheduled to run from March 11 to 17, 2026, across four host cities.

This draw took place in the presence of FIBA officials, including Secretary General Andreas Zagklis. Nigeria, as one of Africa's strongest teams, earned their place in the qualifiers after successfully defending their Women's AfroBasket title in August 2025.

The expansion of the Women's World Cup to 16 teams aims to provide emerging basketball nations with the opportunity to compete at the highest level.
