Dubai Firm Invests $3m in Bayelsa Solar Power Project

A Dubai-based company, Jampur Group, has invested $3 million in solar power and smart meter projects in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government to set up a renewable energy production plant, emphasizing solar power and smart metering.

Governor Douye Diri expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the potential benefits for Bayelsa and the Niger Delta region. The project aims to address power supply challenges by introducing smart meters to prevent clashes between consumers and suppliers.

The investment will also lead to the establishment of a factory producing solar panels and smart meters locally, reducing the need for Nigerians to seek these items abroad.
