Katsina's Durbar Festival Attracts Global Diplomats in 2026

The 2026 Durbar Festival in Katsina highlighted the state's vibrant cultural heritage, drawing significant global interest with the presence of 17 diplomats, including H.E. Ambassador Pieter Leenknegt of Belgium and H.E.

Ambassador Moham Fouad of Egypt. The festival, which coincided with the Sallah festivities, was attended by Governor Dr.

Dikko Radda, who described the diplomats' presence as a testament to the growing global interest in Katsina's cultural environment. The event featured traditional displays and showcased the historical significance of Daura, including the 2005-year-old Kusugu well.

Governor Radda noted that the success of the Sallah events would enhance diplomatic relations and promote Katsina as a cultural tourism destination. The governor also highlighted ongoing efforts to address local needs, including infrastructure improvements and agricultural support, as part of a broader strategy to attract international collaboration and investment, which has reached N489 billion in recent years.
