Zulum Optimistic About Ending Boko Haram Insurgency

In a statement during the Easter celebrations, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State expressed optimism regarding the imminent end of the Boko Haram insurgency. He highlighted the importance of peace and harmony among the state's Christian and Muslim communities, urging residents to maintain unity and restraint, especially in the current political climate.

Zulum emphasized the significance of Easter as a period embodying sacrifice, forgiveness, and love, and reiterated his administration's commitment to improving security and welfare for the people of Borno State. He noted that 300,000 families would benefit from palliative measures aimed at alleviating economic hardships.

The governor also commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) for their sacrifices and recent successes in counterinsurgency operations, urging continued efforts to promote peace and coexistence among the diverse communities in the state.
