NCDC to Complete Ebola Contact Monitoring by Nov 13

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) reported that 62 contacts have been identified following an imported Ebola case in Nigeria, with monitoring expected to conclude by November 13, 2026. The contacts are scheduled for follow-up between October 31 and November 13.
Although the NCDC did not specify individual completion dates, it confirmed that contact tracing and monitoring are ongoing, with additional contact tracers trained to enhance surveillance. Plans include assessing more contacts for possible quarantine and reviewing guidelines related to contact tracing and self-care.
The National Incident Management System has been activated under the leadership of Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare. The NCDC has tested 18 samples since the outbreak, with one positive result from the index case and 17 negative results.
The agency continues to implement its Incident Action Plan and strengthen preparedness in high-risk states.
