The Coalition Civil Rights Group and the RestoreAfikpoLight Campaign have expressed disappointment in the lack of action from lawmakers, particularly criticizing Igariwei for not pressing the federal government to fund power projects. The groups highlight the 1999 Constitution and the 2023 Electricity Act as tools that should compel lawmakers to act.

They emphasize the need for public accountability and legislative urgency, noting that the community has waited since 2015 for promised improvements.
