Ebonyi APC Holds Consensus Congress, Reelects Leaders

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State conducted its state congress on Tuesday, adopting a consensus approach to elect new leadership for the next four years. This event took place at the Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki.

Governor Francis Nwifuru, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Uzor, attributed the peaceful conduct of the congress to the leadership style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he referred to as the nation's leader of the party. Nwifuru expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his sacrifices that ensured the congress proceeded without conflict.

He highlighted the unanimous agreement among party stakeholders to adopt consensus candidates to eliminate internal disputes and strengthen party unity for future political engagements. The exercise resulted in Chief Stanlei Okoro Emegha being returned unopposed for a second term in office, underscoring the party's commitment to maintaining internal cohesion and consolidating its political structure in Ebonyi State.
