Ebonyi Governor's Wife Pays N3.2m Hospital Bills

On Friday, during her Easter visit, Mrs. Mari Maudlin Nwifuru, the wife of Ebonyi Governor Francis Nwifuru, settled N3.2 million in hospital bills for 16 indigent patients at the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki.

This initiative aims to provide financial relief to patients unable to pay their medical bills. Mrs.

Nwifuru encouraged the patients not to lose hope and expressed her commitment to supporting those in need. Dr.

Sorochi Otu, the head of the hospital's medical social work department, commended her philanthropic efforts. Additionally, Mrs.

Nwifuru has been involved in rehabilitation programs in the Effata Ugbodo area and has provided financial assistance to the Trinitarian Foundation, which supports orphans and juveniles in remand homes. During her visit, Mr.

Emmanuel Nkwuda, head of the Child Development Department in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, praised her for her contributions, while Mr. John Nweke expressed joy over her visit and the distribution of relief materials to patients.
