Edo Governor Pays Medical Bills for Fire Victims

Edo State Governor Mondai Okpebholo intervened to pay the medical bills of a pregnant woman and other patients who suffered severe burns from a fire incident in Ekpoma. This action was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Patrick Ebojel, on Sunday.

During a visit to the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Okpebholo addressed the urgent medical needs of the victims. The pregnant woman’s husband sought financial assistance for his wife, who was in critical condition and due to deliver.

Medical staff quickly arranged for her to be admitted, and she underwent a cesarean section, resulting in a safe delivery. The governor expressed optimism for the recovery of all patients, emphasizing the state government's commitment to supporting residents facing medical emergencies and financial difficulties.

He highlighted that the payment of medical bills for the victims was part of his administration's efforts to alleviate the burden on families affected by such incidents.
