Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru Launches Workshop for Local Leaders

A three-day capacity building workshop for chairmen, vice chairmen, heads of personnel management, public relations practitioners, treasurers, and Coordinators of Development Centres was organized by the Ebonyi State Government in Abakaliki. Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru opened the workshop, urging participants to manage public resources prudently and to leverage the training for effective governance.

He emphasized the importance of the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda in integrating citizens into political decision-making and stated that trained public officers must remain vigilant in their duties. Nwifuru expressed satisfaction with the quality of speakers and the relevance of the topics to be covered.

He stressed that public service should not be viewed as a means to personal financial gain and encouraged local government chairmen to focus on their responsibilities and build lasting legacies. Consultant and trainer Theodore Anazodo praised the initiative, highlighting its role in enhancing human capital and bridging knowledge gaps among participants.
