Nwifuru Urges LG Chairmen to Confront Opposition Ahead of 2027

On Tuesday, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State addressed the newly sworn-in chairmen of the state's 13 local government areas at the Christian Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki. He directed them to "mercilessly deal with opposition parties" as part of their preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Nwifuru urged the chairmen to bolster the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) within their jurisdictions and warned that he would take action against any chairman who failed to meet performance expectations. He emphasized the importance of delivering on responsibilities and effective administration, cautioning against complacency in their new roles.
