Ebonyi NSCDC Cracks Down on Illegal Mining, Secures 17 Convictions

The Ebonyi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has declared war on illegal mining, securing 17 convictions for vandalism and cultism. Commandant Francis Chika Nnadi issued a stern warning to illegal artisan miners to immediately cease operations or face prosecution.

The NSCDC is working closely with the Ministry of Solid Minerals to regulate and coordinate mining activities in the state. Despite challenges, Ebonyi remains one of the safest states in the Southeast region.

The command has upgraded its infrastructure and operational efficiency to combat non-state actors and collaborate with other security agencies effectively.
