Ebonyi State Ministry Partners with FIDA to Combat Child Labor in Mining Sector

The Ministry of Solid Minerals Development in Ebonyi State has partnered with FIDA to combat child labor, enforce mining regulations, and improve working conditions for miners. The collaboration aims to end exploitation of children and pregnant or nursing mothers in the mining sector.

Dr. Chidi Onyia, the Ebonyi State Commissioner of Solid Minerals Development, highlighted the need for fair treatment of Nigerian miners and indigenous mining communities.

The initiative seeks to address the dominance of foreign investors in Nigeria's mining industry and ensure a level playing field for local miners.
