Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru Issues Warning on Fertiliser Distribution

Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the governor of Ebonyi State, issued a warning against the sale or diversion of 65,000 bags of fertiliser approved for distribution to farmers in the state. This warning was conveyed by his principal secretary, Chief Martias Adum, during the flag-off of the second batch of fertiliser distribution at the Ebonyi Fertiliser and Chemical Industries Limited on Wednesday.

Adum emphasized that the fertiliser should not be sold in any form and directed local government chairmen, councillors, development centre coordinators, and traditional rulers to ensure that it reaches genuine farmers in rural areas rather than urban traders. He stated that the government would take action against anyone caught selling the fertiliser, labeling them as enemies of the farmers.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Princess Nkechinyere Iyioku, noted that this second batch was initiated due to complaints from farmers who were excluded from the first distribution, aiming to assist farmers in the remote areas of the state.
