Ebonyi Government Accuses Individuals of Distracting Nwifuru

The Ebonyi State Government has accused certain individuals of trying to distract Governor Francis Nwifuru in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Ikeuwa Omebeh, the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, made this statement in Abakaliki on Wednesday.

He claimed that some political interests are pushing propaganda to divert attention from the administration's development agenda. Omebeh emphasized that Governor Nwifuru is committed to governance and the implementation of his People’s Charter of Needs agenda.

He acknowledged citizens' rights to peaceful protest and legitimate criticism but warned against exploiting these rights to mislead the public or create tension. Omebeh stated that recent media narratives and protests seem designed to distract from the government's achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other sectors.

He challenged critics to provide factual evidence and allow citizens to assess the administration's projects and programs directly.
