Ebonyi State University Expels 3 Students Over Firearms Possession

Ebonyi State University (EBSU) in Abakaliki has expelled three students for unlawfully possessing firearms during the inauguration of the newly elected student union government for the 2025-2026 session. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Michael Awok, announced the expulsion as a deterrent against cultism and other forms of misconduct on campus.

The expelled students, Azubike Lawrence, Enyinnaya Ib Kenneth, and Njoku Joshua, were found with guns and live ammunition during the recent student union government election. The university management emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards cultism and any form of violence on campus.
