UNIBEN Threatens Certificate Withdrawal for Celebration Ban Violators

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has issued a warning threatening to withdraw certificates of students who violate the ban on celebrations. The Registrar, Mr.

Ademola Bobola, disclosed that the penalty for violators includes rustication or expulsion. The decision was made during a university management meeting on October 6, 2025, reinforcing the prohibition on celebrations on campus.

The circular emphasized that any form of celebration, including signing and playing music, will not be tolerated. Students were also warned against large gatherings and parading around the campus.

Violators will face severe disciplinary actions, such as certificate withdrawal, rustication, or expulsion. Compliance with the ban is mandatory to avoid sanctions.
