Ebonyi Youth Assembly Reports Threats After PDP Endorsement

The Ebonyi Youth Assembly has alleged that its members are facing threats to their lives due to their unanimous endorsement of Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.

Comrade Sundai Nwankwo, the president of the group, stated that the threats began shortly after the endorsement was made on July 11. Members have reportedly received death threats, with some individuals threatening to bomb their houses and disrupt their businesses.

Nwankwo emphasized that these actions are an infringement on their democratic rights and freedom of association. The group, established in 2010, is committed to promoting good governance and civic participation.

They have called on the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigerian military to protect the democratic rights of Ebonyi citizens, regardless of their political affiliations.
