ECN Supports Nigeria's 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy

The Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), represented by Director General Mustapha Abdullahi, has expressed strong support for Nigeria's hosting of the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT). This commitment was made during a courtesy visit by Lami Ahm, President of the Ladi Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), and other association members at the ECN headquarters in Abuja.

Abdullahi highlighted the importance of sports as a tool for promoting national unity and engaging youth in international cooperation. He commended LGAN for securing the rights to host the championship, scheduled for November 1-7, 2026, at the IBB International Golf Country Club in Abuja, which is expected to attract golfers from 30 African countries.

Abdullahi noted that hosting such major international sporting events enhances Nigeria's global image and stimulates tourism while strengthening existing sports infrastructure. The event is recognized as a significant opportunity for sports diplomacy and national development.

During the visit, Abdullahi was presented with an appreciation award and invited to serve as an ambassador for the championship.
