CBN Director Supports Nigeria's 2026 AACT Hosting Bid

Rakiya Opemi Yusuf, the director of the Payment System Supervision Department at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), expressed the bank's commitment to supporting Nigeria's preparations for hosting the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT). During a courtesy visit to Lami Ahm, the leadership of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) in Abuja, Yusuf reaffirmed the CBN's readiness to collaborate.

She acknowledged the surprise award of her appointment as an AACT ambassador and pledged her commitment to Nigeria's bid to host the championship. The tournament, scheduled from November 2 to November 7, 2026, is expected to attract participants from 30 African countries, boosting tourism and inspiring youth participation while enhancing Nigeria's global recognition in golf.

Yusuf emphasized the importance of supporting women's development in golf and expressed her belief that the Nigerian project would help tell the country's story to the world. She urged collaboration with LGAN to mobilize support for a successful hosting of the AACT.
