Tunji-Ojo Supports 2026 Africa Golf Championship Plans

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, expressed strong support for the Ladi Golf Association Nigeria (LGAN) during a courtesy visit with its president, Lami Ahm. He pledged to ensure seamless hosting of the Africa Golf Championship, scheduled to take place in Abuja from November 2 to November 14, 2026.

Tunji-Ojo highlighted the importance of women's participation in golf, recognizing their potential as contributors to national development. He assured that the visa entry process for delegates from across Africa would be simplified to promote tourism and trade.

Additionally, he committed to providing adequate security during the event, collaborating with relevant agencies to ensure safety. The championship is expected to attract participants from 30 African countries, positioning Nigeria as a hub for sports diplomacy.

Tunji-Ojo also noted ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Interior aimed at improving passport processes and border management, aligning with Nigeria's vision as a modern destination.
